I would like to say I am a simple, easy going guy but that just seems boring to me.
My Work ::
I am the Product Manager for SellerVantage. The company started out as an eBay consignment drop-off store and I was the Lister/Shipper. We were trying to keep track of our consignor’s items with Excel and Outlook all to realize that it was not working out. The company hired a developer to sit next to our photo booth and create a software that would reduce listing time, increase consignor communication and manage our inventory. This is how SellerVantagewas born and now the software can send items to eBay, Craigslist, Amazon and your eCommerce website simultaneously while tracking sales and retracting concurrent listings. I have been with the company since 2004 and could not ask for a better company to work with.
My History ::
In 2000, a group of us started the Tampa Bay Dream Center where we worked in the inner city of Tampa doing weekly block parties, renovating section 8 apartments, tutoring students and running large scale mission trips to Tampa, Belize and Mexico. Donations grew slim and unfortunately the Tampa Bay Dream Center had to close its doors in 2006.
When Marlyse and I moved to New York in 2011, we have been working closely with the New York Dream Center to help students and families in East Harlem and Chelsea housing.
My Love ::
I have been married to the beautiful Marlyse since 2003 that I met in the Dream Center and currently we have 2 furry kids otherwise known as pups. Ellie and Rhino. We enjoy our time in New York City and frequently write about our experiences. That has pretty much what my blog has been about since 2011.
Who I Am ::
I have rappelled down Ecuadorian waterfalls, stood in front of the Coliseum in Rome and experienced real Chinese food in Guangzhou. I am an Eagle Scout that has spent more than a year in a tent total. I played soccer for ten years all to realize that I do not really enjoy soccer.
I worked with an inner city ministry for five years rebuilding houses to help rebuild lives. That turned into doing construction in Belize and Mexico as well as visiting orphanages and connecting with teens in a completely different atmosphere. I have helped organize and run golf tournaments, concerts and mission trips with four hundred students while renting an entire school to house them all.
I used to DJ techno, trance and breakbeats for youth groups across Florida. I play 12-string acoustic guitar for the New York Dream Center and I own an accordion that I do not know how to play at all.
I love playing racquetball but my hand-eye coordination prevents me from being stellar. I enjoy going mountain biking but my balance to gravity ratio usually leans towards gravity and the ground reminds me how close it is to my face.
I can solve a Rubiks Cube on average in one minute, three seconds. I have an advantage when playing Blackjack. I am horrible at English comprehension but excellent at spelling. I owned a print broker business and a band branding business.
One goal that my wife and I share is the desire to visit all seven continents. Currently, we are both at four but they do not match each others so we will revisit continents the other has been to.
I always do my own taxes but I always think I could be making more back if I had someone do them for me. If I do not know the answer to a question, I Google it. If an appliance is broken, I Google how to fix it.
I have made decisions that increased revenue substantially for the company I work for and the business has altered directions due to input I have given. I never went to college.
