Hey, i enjoyed the read, i am accustoming my self to these daily realities too. luckily i do all the produce shopping at a market in the plaza mayor on Thursdays so i break down the shopping into two trips but either way its about 35 lbs a trip plus the walk home with it and the scaling of the 4 flights of stairs ( no elevator either) i miss my car and the convenience but at what cost? plus i think i am getting into pretty good shape. At least you still have the selection of groceries though i would travel to Madrid if we had a whole foods type place there ( i cant find proper fruit and nut mix here, or chili powder of fajita seasoning or salad dressings…. i wish you, marlyse teh dog and the grocery and laundry cart a long and happy life.

I am with you! Cheap and free are my two favorite NYC words!City Maps really helps me keep my spending in check and allows me to stick to a budget. I highly recommend for people looking to save money.
